Rutgers Athletics is using mobile to reach out to their fans and boost ticket sales.  

Through the Gold Mobile Message Goblin™ platform, Rutgers is offering interactive and live mobile content on Scarlet Knights sports teams. Fans can receive live game updates and last minute ticket offers via SMS, or download a ringtone of the Rutgers cheer.  Fans sign up at the Scarlet Knights website or by texting a keyword to a short code. In the past, those who have been interested in tickets were often not made aware of their existence in time to purchase them. Now Rutgers is driving ticket sales with their mobile initiatives.

"In creating this wireless platform with Gold Mobile we have reached a new milestone in how Rutgers connects its sports teams with their fans and vice versa, " said Jason Kroll, Associate Athletic Director for Rutgers University. "What makes this so significant is that the cell phone is the one device linking our increasingly mobile community together. Fans can access the information, offers and media downloads at the precise moment they want them."
